To Qualify for our Nurse Aide 1 Practical Skills Tutoring/Refresher you MUST:

Have tested and PASSED the written part of your North Carolina State Competency Exam within the last two years.

OR

Have been listed on another state's registry within the last two years.

You must supply documentation of either or both to qualify. 

We suggest that you sign up for the refresher course after applying to take or re-take the state exam. The state exam fee is $101 and is not paid to CCNAT. We can assist you in applying for the exam, but we will not do it for you.

Our rates for tutoring are $35 an hour with a minimum of five hours. We will supply you with a testing booklet when you sign up. Payment is to be in full at the time of sign-up.

We recommend 5 - 6 hours.

You will be guided through all 24 nursing skills that you need to master the way that the testing evaluator wants to see it done.

We have Blood Pressure Kits that you can use during your time with us at no extra charge.

Many of us may be currently working in the field, or have previously, but some of the ways we may have gotten used to in the "real world" may be outdated. They might have minor details that differ from state competency exam regulations. 

For example, the best method for applying a knee-high elastic stocking may not be the method you are used to using. 

We have a great instructor that can guide you smoothly through the practical nurse aide skills...done exactly how they are to be done for the state exam.

Please bring valid ID, proof of qualifier, and $175 with you to sign up. Without these you will not be able to sign up. We DO NOT accept credit or debit cards. Payments are to be made out to: Coastal CNA Training.

The fee for this refresher course DOES NOT include the state exam fee.
